Rwanda, 1994. The Hutu unleashes genocide against the Tutsi. Anna manages to save the daughter of a local colleague whose entire family has been murdered and takes her back to Poland. The young woman refuses to play the victim and returns to her birthplace to visit the graves of her loved ones. A challenging drama explores the cruelty of human nature and reminds the fragility of peace.

Joanna Kos-Krauze

Joanna Kos-Krauze (b. 1972) is a Polish director, screenwriter, and producer, president of the Directors’ Guild of Poland, member of the European Film Academy and the Polish Film Academy. She worked in cooperation with her husband director and screenwriter Krzysztof Krauze (1953 – 2014). Their first feature Skola (1999) was recognized as one of the most remarkable Polish films of the last two decades. Krauzes later celebrated international success with My Nikifor (2004), Savior Square (2005) and Papusza (2013).
