A talented young Canadian photographer Clélia (by Sophie Marceau) is invited to work for a scandal-mongering tabloid La Verité in Paris. Here she meets an eccentric children-book publisher and soon marries him. Just after the wedding, her mother looks at the wedding pictured made by the colleague who’s in love with Clélia. She suspects that her daughter is having an affair. Anxious, Clélia’s mother has a stroke and dies. Clélia manages to resist the allure of the colleague, but in the meanwhile it looks that the world around her is shattering to pieces.
