"Flicker" is a stylish, tragicomic and absurd film about a telecommunications company in a small Swedish town, its eccentric and unhappy employees, constantly corrupt computers, a cleaner cleansed by arachnophobia and loneliness, and a militant group of people allergic to electricity. When the power supply is briefly disrupted for one ordinary day, a chain of strange events and misunderstandings sweeps through the town, changing the destinies of several of its inhabitants forever. "I had an idea ... faster, some ideas and I felt a great need to implement them. Some ideas were similar - about people who in one way or another found themselves in ruts. People who went somewhere but got stuck. Maybe that was more convenient for them, or maybe that’s just the way things happened. So I thought: what if I invited all these people to a party, to one place? Would it be a fun party or a tragic one? With funny hats, or maybe barns and deep conversations? The result is somewhere in the middle: a tragic comedy about the desire to feel needed, ”says director Patrick Eklund.
