Stay, Away is a family drama about a single mother and her teen-aged daughter who doesn’t get along with her mother’s new lover. Their everyday life is pervaded by fights and jealousy. Only in moments, when she has her mother all to herself, the daughter feels safe and happy. Torn between her daughter’s needs and her own, the mother only sees one solution for herself to be happy again and makes a serious decision.

Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito

Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito was born in 1982 in Amsterdam. At the age of eighteen she went to Paris to study theatre at the Acting International Drama School, led by Robert Cordier. After a few years of study and several different jobs in Paris she entered Directing course at the Dutch Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam. In 2009, she graduated with the short film Stay, Away, to which she also wrote the script. Besides directing and writing she is also working as an actress.
