Factotum

Hank Chinaski works black jobs to make money for what he really wants to do - to relax, to bet on horse racing, to have fun with women, but most importantly - to write stories that no one wants to print.

The film is based on Charles Bukowski's novel, Factotum. It’s a story about a man living on the brink of a rift, a writer who is willing to risk everything for the sake of creativity.

The screenplay for the film Factotum was co-written by Bent Hamer with producer Jim Stark, and he usually produces films for low-budget independent directors such as Jim Jarmusch or Friedrich Thor Friedrichsson.
