In the local, borderline slang “piggies” mean prostituting teenagers. Children who sell themselves not only for money, but most often for anything: cosmetics, clothes, electronic devises.The hero of the “Piggies” is Tomek, a sixteen-year-old boy who lives with his parents close to the border. One day Tomek discovers the secret of his school friend, Ciemny. Ciemny and some other 14 to 16 year-old boys sell themselves to German paedophiles. Marta is Tomek’s girlfriend. Tomek tries to earn some money to make her dreams come true...“It is a kind of social drama, applying widely-understood paradocumental methods. Authentic environment, real places, real people, sometimes real events. Most of the films were filmed with long lenses, which gave an illusion of documental observation”, – says “Piggies” director Robert Gliński.
