It’s a story about people whose roads suddenly intersect on the hottest day of the year in Oslo. We see Froda and Mila, their first child, seem destined to live long. We watch Bob, a singer who is about to commit suicide, kleptomaniac Leon looking for Asa - who was going to marry her ten years ago. We also meet Leon’s brother, Trygve, who invites Leon to jail to celebrate his birthday, weaving plans to escape with his help. Finally, we meet the angel Vidar, Leon’s best friend, who sees what no one else sees, who is able to save everyone but himself.

Erik Poppe was born in 1960. Poppe was educated at the Dramatic Institute in Stockholm. He has previously directed commercials, short- and documentary films as well as being Director of Photography on Bent Hamer’s first feature film, „Eggs“. He has won several awards at the Cannes Advertising Film Festival, and in the Epica, Eurobest and Clio competitions. In 1995, he was named Feature Director of Photography of the Year in Norway. He received the MTV Award for direction for his Peter Gabriel music video.
