Mads moves into a house with his lovely girlfriend Marie, when a sudden pang of doubt strikes him. Is this the meaning of life? Has he lived out all his dreams? Is he truly happy? Mads drops everything, moves away from Marie and throws himself into a desperate quest to live out his greatest dreams; a quest to find the meaning of life and the one and only. It's a quest that includes friends from the gang, Louise and Peter, dates, a new and younger girlfriend, break-ups, meetings with in-laws, nights on the town, frustrating hours working on the perfect screenplay, and an eternal search for a happy life. Film is a moving and heartfelt dark comedy about men, the meaning of life, dreams, and love.
„A man’s film that isn’t about a murder or a career – or about beer and soccer – but about feelings; about hopes and dreams, about the great decisions, and the eternal doubt. A comedy with substance that gets behind the generalizations about the male role, that gets deep into his soul – to the place where it could get really interesting and, more importantly – intelligent. We started analysing ourselves and our own generation of men, which refuses to grow up to great amusement and with often pathetic results. Apparently, we men are never quite content regardless of what we’ve got going for us. The singles are envious of the family fathers, the family fathers feel trapped, nobody is content with his career no matter how well he’s doing, and his life dreams of freedom and harmonious happiness have stranded in everything from despondency to cynicism,“ says Nikolaj Arcel.
