Following a four years separation, Ahmad returns to Paris from Tehran, upon his French wife Marie’s request, in order to finalize their divorce procedure. During his brief stay, Ahmad discovers the conflicting nature of Marie’s relationship with her daughter Lucie. Ahmad’s efforts to improve this relationship soon unveil a secret from their past.

Asghar Farhadi

Asghar Farhadi was born in Isfahan (Iran) in 1972. He studied at the University of Tehran from which he graduated with a master’s in Stage Direction in 1998. During studies he directed short films and series for television. In 2003 he wrote and directed his first feature film Dancing in the Dust. Other A. Farhadi’s films Beautiful City(2004) and Fireworks Wednesday (2006) were recognized internationally. Also, About Elly (2009) was a great success and won several awards worldwide. In 2011 A. Farhadi presented A Separation which took over 70 awards internationally, including the Golden Bear, the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, the César for Best Foreign Film, and finally, the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
