The story of legendary explorer Thor Heyerdal’s epic 4,300 miles crossing of the Pacific on a balsa wood raft in 1947, in an effort prove it was possible for South Americans to settle in Polynesia in pre-Columbian times.

Joachim Rønning, Espen Sandberg

Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg were born in Tonsberg, Norway. Studied at Stokholm Film School, Sweden. Under name Roenberg they created many commercials. In 2005 presented feature film debut Bandidas. Their second film Max Manus: Man of War (2008) had phenomenal success in Norway and abroad. Scanorama presented this film to Lithuanian audiences. Kon-Tiki is their third feature film.
