If Trees Could Talk

I could be famous!

Film starts out as a simple portrait of a struggling Russian-speaking stand up comedian in Latvia. He works in McDonalds only to get up on the stage once a week. As we get to know our protagonist closer, we wander deeper into his fears and experience the wave of social anxiety, that threatens to swallow the young comedian alive.

"For me this film grew out of my curiosity about the main character, whom I have seen performing couple of times. During the process the film became more and more important to me, growing into a portrait of my own generation." Director Armands Začs
