Thor (by Baldur Einarsson) and Christian (akt. Blær Hinriksson) live in a small village in rural Iceland. Thor's mother always puts her personal life before her children's, while Christian suffers living in a family with abusive father, so their friendship is the only comfort they find. However, as one of them tries to win the heart of a girl while the other discovers new feelings toward his best friend, the events that follow threaten to destroy the longest and most meaningful relationship either has ever had. Well-crafted and affecting, Heartstone offers a powerful portrait of two adolescents, with some commentary on the limits of living in a small-town.
