In the 1960s Helsinki a legendary Finnish boxer Olli Mäki (Jarkko Lahti) is waiting for an historic fight with American Davey Moore. Olli’s manager (Eero Milonoff) promises the press a spectacle never seen in Finland. Olli gives in to pressure. The exhaustive workouts weaken his body and mind, and a divorce with beloved wife Raija is breaking his heart. But luckily an important lesson and the biggest achievement of his life are waiting for him.

Juho Kuosmanen is a Finnish director, screenwriter and actor. In 2010 his graduation film The Painting Sellers won the first prize of Cannes Film Festival foundation Cinéfondation created to support the next generation of international filmmakers. His 2016 feature debut The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki won the main award in the Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
