A mosaic of several intertwined stories questioning the meaning of life, love and hope, set during the last six days in the life of Eluana Englaro, a young woman who spent 17 years in a vegetative state.

Marco Bellocchio

Marco Bellocchio was born in Piacenza (Italy), in 1939. In 1959 he suspended his studies in philosophy at the Catholic University in Milan. M. Bellocchio made several shorts and then transferred to London, where he attended the Slade School of Fine Arts. His films were presented and awarded in the biggest international film festivals. Selected films: Fists in the Pocket (1965), A Leap in the Dark (1980), Henry IV (1984), The Conviction (1991), The Nanny(1999), My Mother’s Smile (2002), Good Morning, Night (2003),Vincere (2009). In 2011 he received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice International Film Festival.
