Thanos Anastopoulos was born in Athens in 1965. He Studied Philosophy at the University of Ioannina in Greece. Then completed postgraduate studies at the University of Paris I (Pantheon Sorbonne) and at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He has directed short films, documentaries and theatre plays. In 2004 Anastopoulos made his feature debut with All The Weight Of The World. His second feature film Correction (2008) made its international premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and was selected and awarded in numerous festivals. The Daughter is his third feature film.
