Ulrike Ottinger - Head of the Jury at Baltic Short Film Competition Programme New Baltic Cinema, German filmmaker, screenwriter, painter, photographer, traveler and professor. Ottinger's original, interdisciplinary work consists of documentaries, feature films, and experimental films that can often be described as artistic forays into the territory that separates these forms. As opposed to conventional means of expression, Ottinger seeks prescriptions that differ from official arrangements and traditions, especially in Eastern cultures. In 1986, her documentary film China. The Arts – The People received the German Film Critics Award. At 2007 Ottinger’s film Prater has been awarded the same prize. In 2011 she was awarded the Hannah-Höch-Prize for her creative work. Her last film Chamisso's Shadow is shown in the documentary section Real Life.
